In early 2023, Jimmy Buffett performed four concerts in Key West, Florida, including two intimate shows at the Key West Theater. The set list included an emotional rendition of "A Pirate Looks at 40."

A year after his death on Sept. 1, 2023 at age 76, the city of Key West is awash in a Labor Day weekend packed with Buffett tributes to the man who found his voice in Key West and went on to make a fortune based on his "Margaritaville" brand born on the tiny island at the end of the road on U.S. 1.
